CecilCecil Conlee came to Vanderbilt from Memphis. After graduation, three years in the Navy and a couple of years in graduate school, he moved to Atlanta where he has lived ever since with the exception of an eight month stint in Hong Kong related to business. He has worked in the real estate industry since 1968, although he doesn’t work too hard these days. He has also been director of several public companies.

He has been active in the Atlanta community having served as director or trustee of the Chamber of Commerce, Central Atlanta Progress, The Community Foundation and other non-profits. Cecil has also been an active alumnus. He served as president of the Atlanta Vanderbilt Club, then president of the National Vanderbilt Alumni Association and, finally, as a trustee of Vanderbilt since 1983.

He is married to Amy Jorgensen Conlee (Owen MBA ’77). He has three children: Anne Conlee Mazlish (Vanderbilt BA ’87), who lives in Chevy Chase, MD, John, who lives in New York City and Lila, a ninth grader at the Atlanta Girls’ School. He has three grandchildren. He enjoys playing mediocre golf and hiking.
