Distinguished Alumnus/a Award Nomination Form

The School of Engineering has extraordinary alumni—they achieve, they give back, they serve, and they inspire our students and our faculty. When our alumni succeed, the School of Engineering and Vanderbilt succeed. Therefore, each year the School recognizes its most outstanding graduates with the Distinguished Alumnus/a Award. All recipients of this award are inducted into the School of Engineering Academy of Distinguished Alumni.

Recipients of the award, first bestowed in 1969, must have graduated from or attended the School of Engineering. The honorees are chosen by an awards committee comprising representatives from the Engineering Alumni Council and the administration of the School of Engineering.

The Academy recognizes alumni who have become so distinguished nationally or internationally that favorable attention has been directed to Vanderbilt and the School of Engineering. They are honored for their distinguished achievement, significant service and excellent character. The School is strengthened because of the foundation these outstanding individuals have laid.

If received by April 1, nominees will be considered for an award in the year submitted.  If received after this date, nominees will be put on the list for consideration in the next calendar year.  If a nominee is not selected for the award in the first year eligible, he/she will automatically be considered again the following year.
