Represent Vanderbilt

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions sends admissions officers to as many college fairs as possible, but we rely heavily on Vanderbilt alumni to participate as well. An important goal in the coming year is to greatly increase the number of college fairs we attend, so we hope you will sign up to participate and help us promote Vanderbilt around the country.

Covering a college fair is fun and easy. Just let us know you are interested in participating, and we will e–mail you a list of fairs to be held in your area. Sometimes we know about these fairs well in advance, and other times we will contact you a week or so prior to the event.

Typically, the fair lasts a few hours during the day or evening although some fairs are longer. We send you everything needed to set up an attractive Vanderbilt table; your job is simply to staff the booth and be available to answer questions. Most importantly, interested students will complete an information card so we can stay in touch with prospective students.

If you are interested in helping to recruit the best and brightest students to Vanderbilt University, then please contact Angelo Lee in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at corps@vanderbilt.edu for additional details.

Interview Prospective Students

The Alumni Interviewing Program (AIP) allows students who have applied for admission to Vanderbilt to speak with a Vanderbilt alumnus. This is an excellent way for you to be involved in the admissions process and to help prospective students understand what Vanderbilt is all about. Join more than 1,600 Vanderbilt alumni in 22 countries who have already registered to participate!

What’s in it for me?
  • The chance to help prospective students by offering a more personalized view of Vanderbilt and of the admissions process
  • The opportunity to give back to your alma mater by offering your time
  • The ability to serve as an extension of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by acting as an official Vanderbilt representative in your community, which ultimately serves to attract the best and brightest students to Vanderbilt University

Admitted Student Receptions

Every April, Vanderbilt hosts receptions in cities around the country for students who have been admitted to Vanderbilt. Many of these students may be making their final college decision, and others have already decided to attend Vanderbilt. These receptions are the perfect venue for alumni to talk about their Vanderbilt experience and to answer questions these students still have.

Usually the event is held at a public venue—library, hotel, large restaurant, even a local favorite ice cream parlor—so that students from all around the city feel welcome to attend. To become involved in your local Vanderbilt & You Admitted Student Reception, contact the Office of Alumni Relations at alumni@vanderbilt.edu.
