Host Site

Vanderbilt University's Sarratt Student Center, Student Life Center, and Commons Center will serve as the host site for the 2008 ACUI Region 5 Conference. Vanderbilt is located in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, and was founded in 1873.

The majority of educational sessions and activities will take place in our Student Centers.

Sarratt Student Center was originally built in 1974, and has served as the hub of campus life for over three decades. A renovation and addition of the 86,000 square foot facility was completed in August of 2000. Sarratt Student Center features a food court, email kiosks, automated tell machines, student organization offices, pub, meeting and programming space, information desk, art gallery, court yard, cinema and Ticketmaster outlet.

The Student Life Center was completed in April of 2005. This 68,000 square foot facility houses over 18,000 square feet of meeting space, lounges, Starbucks, the Vanderbilt Career Center, and offices for international students. The Commodore Ballroom in the Student Life Center is the hub of most campus events. The ballroom is 9,000 square with soaring 23' ceilings.

The Commons Center was completed in August of 2007. This LEED certified facility is the cornerstone of a new freshman living and learning environment set to launch with the class of 2012. This 114,000 square foot building features expansive open lounges, information desk, post office, copy center, dining hall, market, coffee shop, meeting rooms, fitness center, and academic support areas.
