What's a 'Dore?
The mascot of Vanderbilt University is the Commodore, in honor of our founder, Cornelius Vanderbilt, who gave himself that title. The Commodores compete in the Southeastern Conference and field 15 men's and women's varsity teams. Go 'Dores!
