Project Safe
Located at the Margaret Cuninggim Women's Center, Project Safe ia a coordinated campus-wide effort aimed at education, prevention, and response services for Vanderbilt students, faculty, and staff affected by power-based personal violence, including sexual assault, partner violence, stalking, and bias-related violence.
Project Safe is committed to creating safe, welcoming spaces for individuals and survivors of all identities. Our advocacy efforts include individual, group, and institutional advocacy. Using a strengths-based approach, we build on the assets on campus to create a climate that fosters healthy and equal relationships. We also provide support and resource referral for victims and survivors of power-based personal violence with the help of our campus partners.
Our programs include:
Project Safe Support and Resource Line
phone: 936-7273 (hotline) or 322-4843 (main)
Students, faculty, and staff can call these numbers with questions related to power-based personal violence. If you or your friend has had an experience that you need or want to discuss, Project Safe staff will listen and provide advocacy. If you are seeking information about events related to these topics, please call the main line or email Kayti Protos, kayti.protos@vanderbilt.edu.
Education and Outreach
Project Safe believes that education is an integral component of preventing power-based personal violence. Staff are equipped to facilitate education, outreach, and training to students, faculty, and staff at Vanderbilt on a variety of topics. Programs are designed to meet the needs of the requesting audiences and vary in length and scope. Please contact Kayti Protos, kayti.protos@vanderbilt.edu, to schedule education and outreach opportunities.

Every Two Minutes (formerly known as Men Promoting a Solution, or MPAS)
Every Two Minutes is a campus organization dedicated to creating awareness about and eliminating violent crimes. Members of ETM try personally to live in ways that are not threatening to others. They also recognize that while this is part of the solution, it is not enough. ETM came together to examine current educational programming directed at men and identify weaknesses, gaps and strengths therein. They also sponsor various awareness events throughout the academic year.
Peer Educators of Project Safe
A group of students trained to facilitate discussions about sexual assault, intimate partner abuse and stalking. Peer educators create seminars and discussion formats and then travel to campus groups and residence halls to promote discussion and encourage understanding of violence.
