Bob Davis
Chief Operating Officer for Transformations, Inc.,
 |
Robert G. (Bob) Davis has been working in the field of computing for over 30
years. During that time he has been the head of the Information Services/Information Technology departments for a number of manufacturing and
distribution companies. Among those are Dana Corporation, a former Fortune
500 company with over 20,000 employees worldwide and Haworth Furniture
Corporation, one of the three largest office furniture manufacturers in the
world. Currently, he is the Chief Operating Officer for Transformations,
Inc., a software company that specializes in Warehouse Management Systems
that are used in distribution centers throughout the United States.
During his career, Bob has taken a special interest in Wireless
Communications and has participated in the selection and installation of a
number of wireless devices over the last 2 decades. He has progressively
used this technology to help his employers and now his customers to utilize
Radio Frequency technology to provide real time inventory for use by
customer service departments, warehouse managers, planning groups, and
marketing groups so that everyone is working from the same set of numbers.
During the last few years, he has become an authorized reseller of RFID
technology and has witnessed its astronomical growth during the last five
years. While embracing the technology for controlling inventory throughout
the supply chain, he has become aware of the potential privacy issues that
could arise from its use in certain sectors.
