FRANCENE GILMER

The world of work requires students who are prepared academically, professionally and personally. As Director of the Vanderbilt Career Center, Francene Gilmer was involved in helping students prepare for life after college. Preparing resumes, selecting clothes to create a professional image, practicing potential interview questions and discussing business etiquette situations are many of the components potential job seekers encounter. Leading a team of professionals to help students realize their career goals with workshops that focused on these topics were readily available.
After 30 years of experience in higher education, she will continue working with students and adults to develop their personal potential through her own company, Gilmer and Associates. Francene is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a bachelor' degree in Community Health Education and a master's degree in College Student Personnel from Eastern Illinois University.
Volunteer services to the Nashville Community include reading books to elementary school children, working with the Boys and Girls Club and membership in civic organizations.
