Multipoint Video conference Connections
OUR IP: 129.59.139.23
Vanderbilt Virtual School offers real-time, interactive video conferencing using H.323 IP (Internet Protocol) over Internet 2.
Regretfully, the Virtual School no longer supports ISDN connections.
Participating Site – Each participating site must have a CODEC unit capable of transmitting compressed video/audio over IP (Internet Protocol).
Virtual School Bridge – The MCU (Multipoint Control Unit) at Vanderbilt Virtual School connects up to seven sites for a multipoint video conference with the Virtual School and provides transcoding, which allows for CODECs of varying speeds to connect to the same conference.
REQUIREMENT for ALL Participating Sites:
A "test call" prior to a school's first video conference each semester is required to be certified with the Virtual School bridge. Test calls with your equipment and our bridge are scheduled the Friday before your video conference from 9 - 11 AM CST.
A media specialist or video conference coordinator must be available at the participating school to give feedback to our Media Tech.
We will be testing network connectivity and audio and video quality to ensure the best possible video conference presentation to each participating school.
Once you have registered and before the scheduled video conference, we will email you the IP number for the video conference.
We currently do NOT offer On Demand, Video Recordings, Web Streaming, or Podcasting of our video conferences.
Any Videotaping of Virtual School video conferences is NOT allowed.
