Legislative Forum

The State and Local Policy Center at VIPPS has hosted a biennial seminar for freshman state legislators since 1989.  The goal of the legislative orientations has been to provide freshman Tennessee legislators with information to assist them with the transition into state government.  Past seminars have included presentations from veterans of state government, covering topics of interest such as education, the state economy, taxes, TennCare, and media relations. 

The upcoming 103rd Tennessee General Assembly seminar will focus on leadership and will feature the Honorable Bill Purcell, Mayor of Nashville as the keynote speaker.
