“Think globally, act locally” is the inspiration for EcoVU: A Green Vision for Vanderbilt. The environment is a global resource that is impacted by decisions made around the world every day. Local and personal decisions have long-ranging effects. This is something that many people often forget in the United States. As a country we only comprise about 5% of the world’s population but we use around 25% of the world’s resources, and often forget that our decisions have a worldwide impact. EcoVU will focus on educating the Nashville community, the Vanderbilt community, and ourselves about how to develop a more sustainable lifestyle through emphasis on local and personal changes.
