This group of Mayfielders wants not only to learn about religion in the context of a classroom or religious service, but also learn about the practical reality of religion on an individual level. To do this holistically, they must first identify their situated, personal beliefs and how they came to understand them. They need to be aware of their own values, their institution’s values, and be able to distinguish among facts, individual values, and universal values. This will allow a honest perspective from which to learn and grow intellectually and, ideally, spiritually.
