Substance Abuse PolicyIt is a violation of University policy for any student to:
Substance-free AreasCertain floors in several residence halls will be designated as “substance-free” floors prior to the local selection and random selection dates. On these floors, the possession or consumption of tobacco products, alocoholic beverages, or recreational drugs by students and their guests is prohibited. Substance-free floors will be clearly designated at both the local selection and general random selection processes. Alcohol PolicyAge RestrictionIt is a violation of University policy for any student under the age of 21 to possess or use alcoholic beverages. Use of Alcohol in Substance-free AreasThe possession or consumption of alocoholic beverages by students and their guests in a substance-free area is prohibited. Tobacco PolicySmokingAll areas of the Vanderbilt residence halls are designated as “smoke-free”. Smoking is not permitted in any common area or private room of any residence hall or residential complex. Smoking is permitted only outside the buildings. Use of Tobacco in Substance-free AreasThe possession or consumption of any tobacco product, including “smokeless” tobacco, by students and their guests in a substance-free area is prohibited. |
