Commencement ceremonies to be broadcasted on the Internet
For the sixth consecutive year, Vanderbilt University will be broadcasting the main commencement ceremony live via the Internet. The Webcast will begin at 9 a.m. May 9 and continue throughout the duration of the main ceremony. The Webcast provides a valuable tool for friends, family members, or interested viewers to observe the live ceremony, especially with the recent hesitancy of some to travel. Last year the Webcast was viewed by approximately 1,000 viewers from around the nation. Both the main ceremony and the School of Medicine’s graduation will be taped. However, the School of Medicine’s will be digitized and placed on the Internet for viewing approximately one week later. Both graduation recordings will be archived for one year. Viewers may access the ceremony via the Vanderbilt homepage at www.vanderbilt.edu and must have either RealPlayer or Windows MediaPlayer, downloadable at www.real.com or www.microsoft.com. The ceremonies will also be aired live on campus on Vanderbilt Television’s Channel 8.
