Manya Whitaker is a fourth year PhD student
in
Developmental Psychology. She received her BA from Dartmouth College
where she did an honors thesis on the development of interracial social
skills. She recently finished work on her Master's thesis entitled
Deepening Understanding of Parents' Role Construction for Involvement. This
project analyzes the influence of personal experiences with education, and
self-construal, on the development of parental role construction, and decisions
about involvement. She is beginning work on her dissertation, in which she
hopes to continue her examination of role construction.
