(Left) During the fourth annual Community Service Outreach Day, Associate Dean for Campus Student Services Mindy Dalgarn and Vanderbilt sophomore Paul Harris spread mulch at the Eakin Elementary playground. This is the first year Vanderbilt faculty and staff served as site leaders during Community Service Outreach Day, which introduces freshmen to volunteerism.

(Below) 1981 Alumnus Charles Davis talks about the importance of community service before volunteers leave for their service sites. He is the founder of the Charles Davis Foundation, which sponsors programs for inner-city youth and their families.
