| L. Carl Brown, the Garrett Professor in Foreign Affairs,
emeritus, at Princeton University and Vanderbilt alumnus from the
Class of 1950, spoke at his alma mater Oct. 24. Brown, a distinguished
historian and expert on the modern Near East and North Africa, delivered
the annual Harry C. Howard Jr. Lecture titled "In Search of the Middle
East." The lecture series was established in 1994 through the endowment
of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Nash Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. George D. Renfro
in honor of Vanderbilt alumnus Harry C. Howard Jr. from the Class
of 1951 |
