What is your job at Vanderbilt?

My crew maintains the trees and shrubs.

 


How long have you worked at Vanderbilt?

Three years this month.

 


Describe what you do in a typical day.

My crew might prune a tree or cut down a dead one. It is always different every day.

 


What job at Vanderbilt would you absolutely not want to have?

Anything inside! I love being outside.

 


Where were you born?

Nashville.

 


Describe your proudest moment.

When my two boys were born.

 


What's your life ambition?

To make sure I'm always there for my kids.

 


What do people like best about you?

I'm a very laid back guy. People always say I just go with the flow.

 


What did you want to be when you grew up?

I always wanted to play football, but it takes all your time.

 


What is your favorite article of clothing?

Jeans. I've always got jeans on.

Life in the fast lane. It seems like I miss something every time I blink my eyes.

 


Name something you do regularly that you really dislike.

I hate waking up at 6 a.m. every morning, but at least I get off at 3:30 p.m.

 


Who would you want to play you in a movie about your life?

A movie about my life would be a little dull in Hollywood.

 


In which season is your job most difficult?

During the summer. I can put up with the cold, but the summer is tough.

 


Which is your favorite tree on campus?

The Bicentennial Oak.
