Homecoming 2001This year's event was broadened to encourage greater participation from the campus community. Appearances by celebrities such as comedienne Kathy Griffin, members of the Nashville Predators hockey team, and the building of sheds for Habitat for Humanity were important parts of the week of festivities called "Dore Daze," held Oct. 7-13. Top to bottom: Homecoming posters adorned campus throughout the week. Homecoming king and queen, Ibby Nasmyth and Anna Curry, were presented at halftime of the football game against the Georgia Bulldogs. Organizations built dozens of floats and braved threatening skies to participate in Friday night's parade. Students got their hands dirty as they painted signs, and later cheered for the Commodores during a 14-30 loss. Chancellor Gordon Gee "ties one on" with students.
