Job: Receptionist, Office of Accounting.
How long have you worked at Vanderbilt?
32 years, happily.
Describe what you do in a typical day.
High volume calls, customer service, prepare checks for distribution,
signature approvals, direct students to proper departments, keep the accounting
staff flowing.
Where is your favorite place on Vanderbilt's campus?
I find Kirkland Hall beautiful.
Describe your proudest moment.
I am proud having been both mother and father to my two wonderful children
and my two wonderful stepchildren. I so enjoy my three beautiful grandchildren.
And of course my "Vanderbilt family" keeps me young.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A nun. But another man, John, stole my heart and hand.
Name at least one guilty pleasure.
I admit it; I'm a late-night snacker.
Who is the person who makes you see in a way you have not been able
to see before?
Betty Price, Steve Bachus, Mike Bittle, too many to mention.
What is your favorite word?
Sapphire. I call everybody "Sapphire."
What is your most precious possession?
My family photos.
What words do you try to live by?
Honesty, sincerity, affection and perfection.
What one talent or gift would you really like to have?
To be creative with flowers and arrangements.

Blessed. I've had a good life with my family.
What do people like best about you?
My wild sense of humor.
What future discovery do you anticipate the most?
A cure for breast cancer.
