Shain named dean of undergraduate admissions

William M. Shain has been named dean of undergraduate admissions at
Vanderbilt University, Provost Thomas G. Burish announced Nov. 14.
Shain has served as dean of admissions at Macalester College, a
private undergraduate liberal arts college in St. Paul, Minn., for the past 17 years.
Previously, he was a regional director of admissions at Princeton University.

Bottorff elected
vice president of Board
Nashville businessman Dennis Bottorff, a Vanderbilt
alumnus and member of the Vanderbilt Board of Trust since 1990, was elected vice president
of the Board during its fall meeting Friday, Nov. 14.
He succeeds Dr. Thomas F. Frist Jr. who resigned from the Board
Sept. 25.
