PROMOTION Caldwell’s appointment was one of several announced last week in areas affecting student life. Other promotions in the Office of Residential and Judicial Affairs announced last week by Madson include: Brock Williams from assistant dean to associate dean; Mark Bandas from assistant dean to associate dean; Sharon Buchanan from associate director to director of housing finances and Ann Nielson from associate director to director of housing facilities. Madson also announced that Mindy Dalgarn has been named director of campus student services. “We have put into place the team that will lead Vanderbilt in the area of housing and student services for what we hope will be many years to come,” Madson said. “I am confident that they are well prepared to meet the challenges that lie ahead while maintaining the tradition of caring that K.C. brought to the office.” Madson noted that Dalgarn was being recognized for her able oversight of the University’s two student centers — the Sarratt Student Center and the Student Recreation Center, as well as her leadership as “we begin to redevelop Sarratt.” Dean of Students Larry Dowdy announced the promotion of Sandy Stahl from assistant dean to associate dean of students. In addition, Michelle Rosen has been named assistant director of student activities. She had been activities coordinator. “They are very deserving,” Dowdy said of Stahl and Rosen. “Both are very committed to the students and very committed to Vanderbilt.
