New program speeds up urgent Vanderbilt doctor appointments A new faculty and staff appointment facilitation program has been created to make getting an appointment with a Vanderbilt doctor easier. The service, which began Dec. 3, 2001, schedules an appointment with an internal medicine physician or a specialist within 48 hours. The service is available free of charge for faculty, staff and their immediate family with an acute or chronic problem. There are certain guidelines and restrictions with the program. Those who have already established a relationship with a Vanderbilt physician should continue to use their usual route for booking an appointment. There are no guarantees that an individual's own physician will be available for an appointment within 48 hours. The program does not include appointments for routine screening and preventative care. To request an appointment, call 343-8863.
