| Aug. 21, 2000 marks the 20th anniversary of the debut
of the Vanderbilt Register. First printed in 1980, the Register
is the paper of record for the Vanderbilt community. Jeff Carr, former
vice chancellor for university relations and general counsel, founded
the paper to "strengthen the sense of community within the University."
The Register consolidated the Vanderbilt Gazette, News
and Views, the Calendar, and the Medical Center Report.
The Register was originally published each Thursday during
the school year, and biweekly during the summer. |
