Through
the conclusion of the 2002 Faculty-Staff Campaign, the Register will
feature examples of programs to which faculty and staff may choose to
contribute.
The Robert Penn Warren Center began its programs in January
1988 under the sponsorship of the College of Arts and Science. It quickly
became an intellectual center of activity, providing opportunities for
faculty members in different disciplines but with related research and
teaching interests to learn and to study with each other. Shortly after
the center's inception, the University chose to name the program in
honor of one of its most prominent graduates in the arts and humanities,
Robert Penn Warren. Contributions from the Faculty-Staff Campaign will
help continue the center's promotion of interdisciplinary research and
study in the humanities, social sciences and, when appropriate, natural
sciences.
The 2002 Faculty-Staff Campaign runs through June 30. For a pledge
card or more information, contact the Campaign Office at 343-8759.
