C'mon and put on your boogie shoes

Vanderbilt University and the Vanderbilt Alumni Association kick-off a new tradition ­ an outdoor dance party to celebrate the graduating class.

THE big exuberant Commodore graduation party is the Vanderbilt community -- graduating students (undergraduate, graduate and professional), parents, friends, alumni, faculty and staff -- gathered to extend a festive farewell to the 2002 graduates.

THE PARTY IS. . .

* Thursday, May 9, from 9 to 11:30 p.m.

* On the Hill Center Lawn on Peabody Campus

* A huge dance floor, with free soft drinks, cash bars and snack foods

* KC and the Sunshine Band asking people to "get down" and "shake their booties"

* One complimentary ticket to all degree recipients

* Additional tickets may be purchased for $10 each or a table reserved for $100 (guarantee of 10 guest seats)

* The number of tables are limited
