Owen considered a school that 'gets it'

The Industry Standard Magazine listed the Owen Graduate School of Management as one of 10 business schools that "get" the new economy. The magazine surveyed top full-time MBA programs in the U.S. and Europe and analyzed high-tech curricula, student clubs, business-plan competitions, startup activity, ranking among recruiters and student career paths. Donna Hoffman, professor of management (marketing) and Tom Novak, professor of management (marketing) received recognition in the magazine's overview of the program at Owen. "Professors Donna Hoffman and Tom Novak put Owen on the map when they founded the eLab to study e-commerce back in 1994. The school is still known for its strong e-commerce curriculum and research, and it produces an unusually high number of students interested in the new economy."

Power outage sets off alarms

There was a power outage on campus April 11, that began about 7:30 p.m. The cause was a problem with an NES feeder line. All of campus except the Medical Center and Peabody were affected.
