Recovery Support Services

Recovery Support Counselors Ellen Trice, LCSW and Ted Rice, LPC-MH provide assessment, counseling and advocacy.

Recovery Support Services for Addictions: One out of every ten employees in the workplace has a substance abuse problem at some time in their lives. The good news is that addictions are treatable. Help is available through the Work/Life Connections – EAP Recovery Support Program (615-936-1327).

Faculty and Staff: If you have a problem with alcohol or other drugs, it is important to get help early. It can save you job and it can save your life. The Recovery Support Counselor can provide an Addiction Assessment, offer a plan for addressing the issue, provide a referral for treatment when clinically appropriate, advocate and help monitor your recovery allowing you to return to the workplace.

Supervisors: The Recovery Support Program offers resources for supervisors and faculty/staff when substance abuse or other addictions are involved. When treatment is indicated, we will assess and refer faculty/staff to appropriate resources. Vanderbilt participates in the Drug Free Workplace Act. Reporting to work under the influence of alcohol or other drugs is a violation of the Human Resources Substance Abuse can lead to termination of employment. Safety is a paramount concern for our customers (patients, students, parents, families, faculty and staff).
