Maxislide Sheets
Maxislide
Key points:

  • Maxi slide is a sliding system for low friction transfers, useful in lateral patient movement.
  • The flat sheet design with ergonomic handles provides support in repositioning patients in bed.
  • It is particularly easy to put in place and remove from underneath the patient.
  • Encore Sit to Stand Patient Lift

  • Maximum weight limits 420 lbs.
  • Maximove Verticle Sling Lift
    Maximove
    Key Points:

  • Patients can be transferred in comfort and repositioned, if required, through 360º for access to bed, chair or wheelchair.
  • May use reusable slings or disposable slings when needed (contact isolation).
  • Maximum weight 500 lbs.
  • Stedy: Non-powered patient transport device
    Stedy
    Key Points:

  • The ARJO Stedy allows the patient to simply and safely stand themselves, ready for transfers to the toilet, chair or wheelchair, eliminating the need for a hazardous, manual-handling task.
  • It encourages the patient to participate fully in the transfer, improving circulation, stiffness, breathing, digestion and muscle tone.
  • Once the patient is standing clear of the chair, the nurse positions the flip down seat supports. This allows the patient to relax and sit comfortably and securely during the transfer.

    hovermatt

Smooth Moves is a hospital wide initiative designed to decrease staff injury and provide safe patient handling. Patient Handling Policy CL 30-04.02 guides the program. Designated champions, who provide ongoing training and expertise for the unit staff, support smooth Moves at the unit level. To decrease the manual handling of patients, mechanical lifting equipment and patient handling aids are available in patient care areas. Tools to aid the caregiver in the selection of the proper device to safely move, reposition or transfer patients include an initial patient assessment and algorithms.

For questions and assistance regarding safe patient handling or equipment call Occupational Health Clinic at (615) 936-0955.
