Provides a benefit for specific
catastrophic injuries or for death caused by an accident.

Flexible Reimbursement Account
|
Funds that can be used as
reimbursement for eligible health care, dental, and vision expenses
not covered under the medical plans, including after tax premiums for
health, AD&D, and dental. This account is a benefit after five continuous
years of full time employment and health insurance coverage. If a faculty
or staff member waives coverage under the Vanderbilt health care coverage,
they also waive the right to this account, and any remaining balance.
Reinstating the flexible reimbursement account will require the five-year
eligibility wait.

Health Care
|
Vanderbilt provides a choice
in health care plans. Eligible employees may choose from Blue Cross
Preferred PPO (preferred provider plan); United Healthcare HMO (health
maintenance organization plan); and Vanderbilt Preferred PPO (Signature
Alliance Network preferred provider plan). A faculty or staff member
may elect to waive healthcare coverage upon providing proof of coverage
elsewhere. If a faculty or staff member waives a coverage under a Vanderbilt
health care plan, they also waive the right to the flexible reimbursement
account (FRA), and any remaining balance.

Life Insurance
|
Provides a benefit to the
named beneficiary if you die or to you if your spouse or eligible dependent
dies.
|
Long-Term Disability
|
Provides a regular monthly income of up to 60% of your regular
pay and may continue contributions to your retirement account if you suffer
a qualifying total disability.
|
Personal Spending Account
|
Allows you to allocate tax-free income each tax year for eligible
expenses to two separate accounts. Health Care PSA is for health care
expenses. Dependent Care PSA is for day care expenses for eligible dependents
while you work.

Retirement
|
The Vanderbilt Retirement Program is a mandatory long-term savings
program. You will automatically enrolled when you become eligible - upon
completion of 12 months of service and meeting a 1,000-hour requirement.
The required contribution is 3% and Vanderbilt will match 3% dollar-for-dollar.
VMG participants have an annually determined requirement for mandatory
participation. You may also choose to contribute an additional 2% that
Vanderbilt will match dollar-for-dollar. Contributions are 100% immediately
vested. To direct your investments in the Vanderbilt Retirement Program,
complete the salary reduction agreement and retirement company application
by indicating the amount of your contribution and your choice of investment
options. Retirement orientation sessions are held the third Tuesday of
each month. Call the Benefits Office or visit or website for locations
or help in completing the required forms.

Tuition Assistance and Discounts
|
Provides tuition discounts to you, your spouse and your dependent
children for courses taken at Vanderbilt University or another accredited
institution. Spouse may only take courses at Vanderbilt.
