Student Employment

Amount of Hours/Jobs a StudentMay Work

An undergraduate student may not work more than 20 hours per week while school is in session.  A graduate/professional student may not work more than 29.5 hours per week while school is in session.  An international student, regardless of academic level, may not work more than 20 hours per week while school is in session.  These limits are inclusive of all positions held.  There is no maximum of the number of jobs held concurrently by the student. The hours a student may work on campus are limited to reduce or eliminate the possibility of academic strain and give more students the opportunity to work on campus.  Certain academic programs may have more restrictive rules regarding weekly maximums.

During mandatory breaks (holidays and between semesters), a student may work up to and over 40 hours per week, at the supervisor's request. Any hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week will be subject to overtime rates of pay.  Dates of break periods may be verified with the Student Employment office.
