TheFederal Work Study Program

Federal Work Study (FWS)is a federally funded program designed to provide part-time employmentopportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and professional studentswith demonstrated financial need. FWS funds allocated to the universitypay a percentage of the student's wages, and the universitydepartmental employer pays the remaining percentage of wages. TheOffice of Student Financial Aid determined eligibility for FWS asestablished by federal regulations. Students are notified of their FWSawards, along with other financial aid awards, prior to the beginningof each academic year. All undergraduate students must complete theFree Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the CollegeScholarship Services Financial Aid PROFILE form, and the appropriateVanderbilt University Financial Aid Application before eligibility maybe determined.  Graduate and professional students must completethe FAFSA and the appropriate VU Graduate/Professional Financial AidApplication.
