or

-VU-affiliated (spouses and dependent children 17 years of age and older)

Program Information

The Pre-EAP program offers a full range of courses designed to meet the diverse needs of English learners with varying strengths and objectives. The levels of instruction is from beginning to advanced. New students are given placement tests to determine the appropriate levels for them.

The core program, which all beginning and intermediate full-time students follow, focuses on speaking and listening, reading, and writing. The goal is to help students to develop a solid foundation in English.More advanced students may also take core courses, but in addition they may select from a number of elective courses, including Pronunciation, TOEFL Preparation, Business English, and Media. The more advanced courses tend to focus on language and skills needed for academic and professional purposes. Throughout the program, students will learn the cultural information needed for successful use of English.

Upon completing their studies at the ELC, students may obtain a certification letter and a transcript showing all their course work and their grades.

Admission to degree programs for Pre-EAP students
