Peace in the epistle to the Romans and in the Malagasy Culture. First of all, the choice has been

based on one of the central issues of Malagasy philosophy (fihavanana=kinship, reconciliation, peace between kins...) and not on the main themes of the history of interpretation in Europe and North America. Secondly, the paper will take into account the main exegetical literature on Romans available in Malagasy language, which can give us some insights into the missionaries' and Malagasy's understanding of Romans. Thirdly, the determination of the impact of Romans upon the Malagasy church history will be done through the analysis of some aspects of church practices.
