Methodological Entries explain the critical approaches used by scholars in the CDC for "presenting and for making understandable" present-day and historical manifestations of Christianity.  Since a multiplicity of critical methods are used in the CDC to complement each other, methodological entries will clarify the distinct role of each method and how it complements others, by emphasizing for each method:

 1) The particular aspect of Christianity that it most directly studies;

2) The critical theory upon which it is based;

3) The procedures for verifying  the legitimacy of the conclusions reached using this method;

4) The relationship of this method with other methods; and

 

5) The way in which this particular method is used in the CDC to complement other methods.
