Buteyko Breathing Techniques:  The Miracle Exercises
Lead by a series of television advertisements aired by Buteyko Limited of New Zealand  with asthmatic Canterbury Rugby player and former All-Black Con Barrell claiming " It's great to get through a game without all those other medications. Having to use them all the time is a worry," buteyko breathing techniques are rapidly growing as an alternative treatment for asthma. To the ordinary sufferer from asthma, a condition where the narrowing of  the tiny airways in the lungs  makes breathing extremely difficult, buteyko can be a very welcome alternative to the many medications that are the commonly accepted treatments for a disease which one in three persons in the world suffers from (http://www.radix.net/~mwg/asthmagen.html). However, with no clear government testing in many countries, there are many questions left about a treatment which many are claiming to be the cure for not only asthma, yet also myocardial infarction (heart attack), end aterteritis (inflammation of the innermost coat of an artery), and ulcerative stomach disease (http://www.buteyko.co.nz and http://fbhc.org/patients/betterhealth/asthma/fastfacts.html).
