Field of View of the Telescope

Summary: In order to become more accustomed to the telescope, a simple exercise to determine the angular size of the field of view of the telescope is useful. The field of view is that portion of the celestial sphere visible through the telescope. For any given instrument, the field may be enlarged or reduced by changing the eyepiece.
Grading: After all students on your lab night have had enough time to complete this lab, the TA may give a quiz (worth up to 25 points) at the beginning of the next lab period.

Due Date: Competency in these skills is expected by the end of your third week using the telescope.
