Continental Philosophy, African American Philosophy, Social and Political Philosophy, Race and Gender Theory.

Current Research

My research emphasizes questions of identity and authenticity (particularly in relation to race, gender, and sexuality), freedom/oppression/resistance, and language and meaning. I have a forthcoming article on "Race Thinking and Racism in Hannah Arendt's Origins of Totalitarianism" and I am working on two books - one on 19th century philosophies of race and gender, the other on women and Hip Hop.
