Secrecy Series & Recent Work 1993 - present The growing use of surveillance and the loss of privacy through technology is a disturbing reality. This series addresses the various methods by which we are being controlled. The Administrator satirizes the role of an administrator within a corrupt institutional system. The Institution addresses the problem of institutional secrecy and the power it generates. In a large interactive installation entitled Confessional the viewer becomes a participant in the ritual historically associated with the transmission of secret information. The Witnesses are containers that serve as repositories for secret documents. Should the information within be released, lives would be altered. |
