MEDIA SOFTWARE
A. GENERAL COLLECTION
The Central Library maintains a
collection of tapes and discs.
Faculty needing to use
particular films in class should put them on reserve by going on line to Acorn.
This will assure that the films will be available when needed for class. Any
teacher in the College may request a title to be shown in his/her class by
calling the LRC (2-4855). Students giving presentations in A&S classes may
schedule use in the same manner. The LRC delivers the necessary equipment along
with the film or tape and picks everything up when class is finished.
If you have a class in a room
where we cannot provide playback, please call us and we may be able to find
another room for you or arrange a night showing.
If you own a film that you want
students to view, you may put it on reserve in the Government Information Media
Services (GIMS).
Anyone in the University
community may view videotapes at the GIMS during their regular hours.
B. RENTAL AND PURCHASE OF
SOFTWARE
1. Standard Procedure for
Software Acquisition.
All requests for the purchase
of films should be submitted to Amy Stewart-Mailhiot
in the University Library.
2. 16 mm film rental
Faculty may request that the
LRC rent a 16 mm film when the film is not available on VHS or DVD.
