Programs for Prospective Students
PreVU

PreVU

Over the summer and during the fall the Office of Undergraduate Admissions sponsors day-long open house events called PreVU.  These programs are of particular interest to rising seniors in high school and their families.

This visit event includes sessions led by each of the four undergraduate school deans, informative meetings on the Vanderbilt admissions process, an opportunity to learn about Vanderbilt’s terrific first-year living/learning experience known as The Commons, lunch on campus, and a student-led walking tour of our national arboretum university grounds.

'Dore for a Day

This is your chance to spend a day on campus “shadowing” a current Vanderbilt student. The prospective student meets their Vanderbilt host in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 12:30 pm CT on the day of the visit.

A voucher for lunch on campus will be provided. The host will dine with the student on campus, then escort the prospective student to one or two classes and spend time with the student exploring areas of interest on campus. Prospective students should plan to be on campus until about 4 p.m. CT.

This program is available Monday through Friday, from January to mid–April, when classes are in session. 'Dore for a Day is open to current juniors and seniors in high school; the month of April is reserved for admitted seniors only.

Please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at least two weeks before your visit to Vanderbilt to reserve your space in this program. Reservations will be confirmed on a space–available basis.

Group Visits

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions schedules special sessions and tours for groups of five or more high school students. These visits are available weekdays throughout the year, except for campus holidays.

Black & Gold Days

Black and Gold Days

Every spring the Office of Undergraduate Admissions sponsors open house events known as Black & Gold Days.  These programs are geared toward freshmen, sophomores, and juniors in high school who are just beginning their college search process.

This half-day visit includes sessions on preparing for college, the financial aid process, a panel discussion with faculty and current students, and a student-led walking tour of the campus.
