Mailing Prep and March Madness

Posted by on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in Application Process.

Hello Friends.

Committee is in full swing and decisions are getting finalized. Meanwhile, our staff is gearing up for letter printing, decision checking, and mailing. Of course, as March Madness is upon us, several of our hoops meistros have taken the time to discuss the nuances of bracket seeding. There is also a lively debate about the comparative quality of ACC and Big 10 teams. A big congratulations to the Vanderbilt Women who earned a #4 seed and another SEC Tournament championship.

We are on track to mail on Thursday, March 26th. Check out the photos below.

Awww mannnn! I thought it was going to be the 25th, guys! For someone living in Texas, do y’all think the letter will arrive by Saturday, or will I have to wait through the agonizing weekend to find out?

Oh, well. Anything’ll be worth it if I get one of those incredible priority mail packages with “Congratulations!” on the front.

Thanks for all your hard work!!

Do the EDers get the large packets with more information now? Or is that more information about Vandy for the RDers who have to choose between schools? Also, when do we start housing forms and the like?
    Thanks so much!

Thank you guys!! I wish they’d be mailed on Wednesday so there’s a higher chance of getting them by Saturday. Hopefully Maryland gets them before the weekend!

    Hey, Luke! =)!

Admit letters go US Priority mail (in those envelopes you see), so I would think that most places would get them on Saturday (3/28) or possibly Monday (3/30). All other decisions (waitlist and deny) go regular US mail (so they should arrive by Tuesday in most places). Our target date for notifying international applicants of our decisions is Friday 3/27 via email. And we send out the big admit packets to ED students as well as admitted RD students. We can begin releasing decisions over the phone starting April 1st, so if you have not received it by then, call us.

Are you going to post admitted 25th-75th percentile scores soon after mailing? I know you did that last year. Just curious.

Yes, once the letters leave 2305 West End, we’ll make sure to provide details about the newly admitted class.
