Centers and Institutes
Research and teaching that join traditionally diverse disciplines are prevalent at Vanderbilt through more than 120 centers and institutes that include the Center for Latin American & Iberian Studies, The Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Research on Human Development, the W.M. Keck Free–Electron Laser Center and the Vanderbilt–Ingram Cancer Center. Numerous other research centers and institutes are listed here.
Schools, Colleges, and Departments
Most faculty at Vanderbilt are engaged in scholarly research in association with graduate or advanced undergraduates. Much of this research takes place through the School of Engineering, the Peabody College of Education and Human Development, the Owen Graduate School of Management, the School of Nursing, and the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Libraries
The Jean and Alexander Heard Library contains 3 million volumes, 30,000 journals and maintains an online catalog called ACORN.
