A Full Circle

It is entirely interesting to watch young, eager faces proclaim promises and talk excitedly about improving and uniting their halls. It is a full circle. Last year, I ran for House President and thought it was competitive… man this year it’s even more competitive. It’s amazing to see the heart that these students have for improving Vandy and more specifically, their home.
Next Subject:Â The Commons
I’m not sure what the Commons was implemented to do, but it’s absolutely working. A class being together has united them in spirit. Sure that sounds cheesy, but it’s true. Watching these young people makes me a bit jealous. Class of 2011 will never get to live on Peabody (not even sophomore year, unless you’re an RA). Class of 2011 will never get to have such a deep and in sync unity that only a communal living space can create. Wow.
Class of 2012 has been deemed the brightest class, and I’ve seen their social faces and attitudes. I’ve experienced the impact they’ve made here already at Vandy, and I am completely blown away. Sure, every year the class gets better, but somehow, the Commons have made them more than better— it’s made them fantastic…
You may think I’m being weird or bitter in this entry, but that is not so at all. This entry is to validate the Commons experiment. It’s a great environment, full of laughter, friends, studying, living, learning, loving- I can feel the greatness of it all. Wow.
Okay… back to homework!! Man, it feels like I’ve been back forever with all this homework thrown at me!
