Financial Aid Facts
  • 60% of undergraduates receive some form of financial aid

  • 39% of undergraduates receive need–based grants

  • Over $20 million was awarded in need–based aid to the freshman class last year

  • Scholarships are awarded, based on academic excellence or a combination of academic achievement and financial need

  • Loans may be borrowed from Vanderbilt loan programs and/or outside lenders

  • Need–based grants are awarded, based on financial need, from federal, state, and/or Vanderbilt sources

  • Work study allows you to earn money through University designated positions or at certain off–campus jobs

  • To be considered for need–based financial aid at Vanderbilt, families must fill out the CSS PROFILE (collects information about the financial circumstances of you and your family), and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Vanderbilt does not have a separate institutional financial aid form.
