Early v. Regular Decision

Early Decision

Under this plan, you must sign a statement indicating:

  • That Vanderbilt is your first choice
  • That you will enroll at Vanderbilt
  • That you will withdraw other college applications if offered admission to Vanderbilt

    • Complete applications and a $50 application fee to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions are due:

  • November 1 for Early Decision I
  • January 3 for Early Decision II
  • January 3 Blair School of Music audition and/or portfolio due

    • Admission decision letters will be mailed:

  • December 15 for Early Decision I
  • February 15 for Early Decision II

    • Students will be either admitted or denied under the Early Decision Plan although a very small percentage of students may be deferred to regular decision.

    Regular Decision

    To be considered for the fall semester:

  • Complete the application for admission
  • Return it and a $50 application fee to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by January 3, 2009
  • Admission decision letters will be mailed by April 1

    • After January 8, the Admissions Committee will consider applications on a space available basis.
