Universal Academic Questionnaire
The UAQ is a survey of U.S. economics departments taken each fall. One survey is addressed to the chair of the Department of Economics of each institution.
The Association is frequently asked for information that is available from the UAQ. Therefore AEA annually publishes in the AEA Papers & Proceedings (May issue of the AER) a few pages of tables assembled from the latest UAQ responses. AEA has made every effort to maintain the confidentiality of responses from individual institutions. The usefulness of these tables depends on the cooperation of departments in completing the UAQ promptly each Fall.
